Converting your files to PDF
Converting
files to .pdf file is a good way to keep all your formatting,
fonts and graphics intact. There is a downside though. With
some programs the conversion isn't always perfect. If you
use symbols the best font to use is the symbol font and after
converting your file you need to make sure your symbols converted
well. Before submitting your file we stress that you print
out a small copy of your poster .pdf fie and proof read it
carefully before submitting it for printing. It is not necessary
to convert your file to a PDF file if you are using PowerPoint,
but if it makes you more comfortable please see the below
instructions.
-
When using Adobe Illustrator® just go
to the File menu and select Save
As and choose PDF. Please make
sure when setting up your document to bring the dpi down
from the default of 800dpi to 150dpi. Your graphics will
still look outstanding. We promise!

A poster created on a Macintosh computer
running OS X using PowerPoint®
is one of the easiest files to convert to pdf format.
It is built into the operating system, so the full version
of Adobe Acrobat® is not needed. Essentially
all you do is save as a .pdf file in your print function.
For regular documents this is extremely easy, but when
you are working with large paper sizes it gets a little
tricky. Just make sure you create a custom page size to
print to.
